Core Junior A
Age 5 - 7 years
Our Core Junior A classes are designed for dancers aged 5 to 7 years, building on the foundations introduced in early dance training while developing confidence, coordination, and technique.
Within this class, pupils train in ballet, tap, and contemporary modern jazz, allowing them to experience a variety of styles while developing a well-rounded foundation in dance. Learning multiple genres helps dancers build strength, musicality, flexibility, and rhythm, while also encouraging creativity and performance skills.
Classes are structured to support pupils as they grow in both skill and confidence, introducing more defined technique while maintaining a positive and encouraging environment where children feel motivated to try their best.
At this stage, dancers begin to develop a stronger understanding of dance vocabulary and movement while continuing to build friendships and enjoy the excitement of learning new skills. Core Junior A provides an important step in a pupil’s training journey, helping them progress with confidence as they continue to develop their love of dance at N D Studios.

Dancers learn key ballet positions, basic steps, and exercises that help develop posture, balance, and control while building a strong technical foundation.

Through tap exercises and combinations, pupils develop rhythm, timing, and coordination while learning how to create sounds and patterns with their feet.

Pupils explore expressive movement, travelling steps, and simple routines that help develop performance skills, creativity, and confidence.

Additional Opportunities
Shows & Performances
One of the highlights of training at N D Studios is the chance to take part in our dance shows held at professional theatre venues. Performing on a real stage is a wonderful experience for young dancers, allowing them to showcase everything they have learned while building confidence, teamwork, and pride in their achievements.
Throughout the year, pupils may also take part in informal studio presentations, where family and friends are invited to watch what the dancers have been working on in class. These relaxed performances help children become comfortable performing in front of others and celebrating their progress.
IDTA Dance Examinations
For those who wish to take their training a step further, pupils are also given the opportunity to participate in IDTA Theatre Dance examinations. These exams allow dancers to work towards recognised qualifications while developing their technique, discipline, and understanding of dance.
